Is there a poker site that would compare to Doyle’s Poker Room? They don’t let U.S. players participate.

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I used to play at Doyle’s and loved their Singe Table Tournaments with nine players. I could play for as little as 10 cents. I could play poker all day for about a dollar. The good thing is that I could usually finish in the money. I love to play poker but don’t want to risk a lot of $$$. Party Poker, Bodog etc. have higher limits. Are there any other sites with really low entry fees? I would prefer to not play free games as they are not realistic. How about a little help please.

Is it legal to start your own cardroom?

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Let’s say you wanted to start a poker club or something in the United States. Would it be legal for players to sign up for a tournament where the buy-in was some number of dollars (less than $100) assuming all players were 21 or older.

Is poker a problem in my life?

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

I am 21 years old living in the USA. My favorite hobby is poker. I spend about 1-2 hours a day playing online poker and online I am break even player. I will deposit about $100 ever 2 months or so and play it down to nothing or untill I am satisfied enough to cash out a few hundred and play with the rest of my bankroll. More than online poker I love going to the casino. I usually go 10-15 times a year and have had a lot of success. I usually play in $100 tournaments or cash games. I won two tournaments back to back this year one for $2000 and one for $1000. Dont get me wrong I have losing sessions and usually lose anywhere from $100-$300 when I do lose.
I am in college and work a part time job and have parental support for college tuition. Over the past three years I have broke even with online and poker at the casino combined.

Do you think this is a problem in my life or just a fun hobby that I like to do. Open to contsructive critisim.
Thanks :)

what site shows poker hand history of person’s past cash/ring games?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

my friend sent me this link where if you enter a player’s id into search, it will show their past hand histories of the person’s cash/ring games including their total profit/loss, however, I forgot the URL and was wondering if anyone knows.. i am not talking about sharkscope where you only get results for tournaments and SG’s, this site actually shows past history for CASH/RING games, and it is FREE to use, but i forgot the URL :(

is there any benefit of reading both?

Whats the best website to learn poker?

Friday, November 6th, 2009

I really want to become a top poker player and really dominate sit and go’s, tournaments etc. I realize practice is a huge part and a lot of playing as well but I want to really step it up. I’m not looking towards online learning sites such as PokerVT or Cardrunners. Any ideas? Reviews? Comments?

Why can’t women win big at the game of poker?

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

i want to know the name of one world champion female poker player.
poker is not a game of luck. if it was luck, women would have won the world title 1/2 of the time. poker is a game of strategy, perception, very simple math, playing your position, bluffing, and of course, the ability to make very hard decisions under enormous pressure. in today’s world, women claim to possess all of these characteristics, and some will tell you that they are better in these abilities than men are. yet, when it comes to a simple game most of learn as children, women come up miserably short compared to men when competing for the top slot–the world champion. i am aware there are some good women poker players out there who have won some tournaments, but they always fall short when competing against men for the world title. why is this? if they are mentally equal as they say, shouldn’t they be winning at least half of the time, instead of 0% of the time?
Good point rovale!!! its the same with the game of chess, its dominated by white men. i wonder why that is, since we are all equals? i am confused, surely the feminist have an answer to this strange delimma?
