can i get money for reporting an illegal business ?

i know of a poker room that seems to be illegal because they hold poker games and tournaments in city limits where casinos are illegal the only casinos around here are on indian reservations . i played at this poker room once and i just dont understand how it can be legal if they are taking a cut from the prize pool

There is no payment for turning in something illegal. Either do your civic duty and make a complaint, and be willing to testify in court, or forget about it.

Get it reported by a newspaper. And that newspaper may pay you some tips…

Just forget about it all together it is not worth your time to report this because you will not get any reward. Also, I remember hearing about a law stating that if the cut is for nonprofit organization it is not illegal. Also it is not illegal if there is a membership fee to come in because then it becomes a private club. Now I do know that if they are using any pirated software you can get up to $30,000 for reporting them. But even then there is no way you would know. JUst leave it alone no sense in getting involved in this one.

I do not see your point in asking the government in paying you on report or reporting illegal business such as you told us here.
First thing, why would the government pay you on reporting this illegal activity? There are more establishment such as this that thrive or prosper without intervention from the police or even an individual. Obviously they are protected by the police themselves. Corruption. The government usually pay up when it involves most wanted persons on their list like for example they are looking for the butcher as they call it if you happen to spot him in one particular place then you will be rewarded on tipping the police of his where about but this illegal businesses I do not think you could collect money out of it by reporting them.

Something tells me that you knew that this was an illegal poker room before you played in it. Another hunch is that you lost money and this is nothing more than sour grapes. Perhaps you are seeking a reward to make up for what you lost?
