online free play poker no download (java or flash)?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

what’s the best online poker (free play) that doesn’t require d/l (i’ve got a mac) I currently play on AOL games which is alright but there aren’t many British people on there (so my dry humour goes unnoticed) and the tournaments start at silly o’clock.Anyone know of a good ‘un (i’ve tried the yahoo one and frankly it’s pants)

What information do you keep track of with your poker records?

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

I’m thinking to start up poker again and I want to take it a lot more seriously this time around, keeping very very detailed records of every game I play, whether online or live, whether tournament or ring game.

So far, I’ve discovered/decided that the following information is pertinent:
Game type (omaha, hold em, stud, etc. Also fixed/pot/no limit)
Limit/Buy-in (what the small/big bet is and/or what the buy-in is)
Time started/ended (especially for cash games)
Total profit/loss
Streak (how many wins/losses in a row)

And for long-term info:
avg. time spent
avg. rate (win/loss per hour)
ROI (return on investment)

Is there anything else that may be of use?
Also, any helpful software or sites would be great. Thanks!

Where would you recommend for live games?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

I’m looking to head to the US next summer and maybe play in some live tournaments. Thus far I’ve only played online and in home games. I’d like to go to a place where I can stay pretty cheap, and find a good variety of low buy-in (less than $100) games, preferably with a decent number of entrants. I’m into all types of poker (Texas, Omaha, 5/7 card stud, 2-7 Triple Draw, etc.), so places that offer different kinds of poker would be great, but even if they just offer Texas, no problem. Specific places would be great, so not just go to Vegas, but where in Vegas? Which casinos? What hotels are good? Are there any good places outside of Vegas?

Letting Your PC Gamble – Giving Online Poker A Shot…

Friday, June 26th, 2009
It has been almost two big centuries since poker which is one of the kinds of gambling was introduced and it touched new peaks lately with the introduction of online gambling. Poker has become so popular that today we have a variety of gambling sites because of the game. Sports book was the first to be published in the Internet and this was during the 90’s. Thus online poker was not the first to enter the field of online gambling.

Micro gaming was the first kind of gambling to be introduced in the Internet and this was in the year 1994. Today it has grown to become a famous developer of gaming software.

Planet poker was the first entrant to the field of online gambling and this was introduced in the year 1998. This was followed by better and bigger gambling sites in the next few years. The rate structure of a maximum of $3 which is about 5% has been considered as the industry standard since its inception.

Currently we have Paradise poker who is leading the industry of gambling online and this was introduced in 1999. Dutch Boyd created Poker spot at about the same time is noteworthy. This was the first group to enter online gambling and they started online poker tournaments. This was a success until the group faced a problem in withdrawing the deposits of the players from their credit card partners. Players were not given their share of winnings as the group itself was not given the due funds. This consequently resulted in the closure of the Poker spot group.

There were about 700 such online gambling sites by the time Poker meted out a failure. A survey conducted in March 2001 revealed that about 800 million people had gambled their funds in the net. One year later, online casino produced its first millionaire, who received 1,594,649 dollars on 30 May, 2002.

After the misfortune that befell Poker spot, online gambling sites started using. This is known to be the system which funds the online gambling sites with huge funds. Players are freed from the trouble of using the wire transfer system or credit cards when they need to deposit in an online pokers site. The introduction of Neteller’s system had reduced frauds and improved the credibility and reliability of the industry.

The year 2001 was a welcoming year for online gambling with the2 big players, Poker Stars and Party Poker entering the field. Party Pokers became the top player in the industry after they overtook Paradise in the year 2003 with their strategic advertisements on the media

They also came up with Party Poker Million along with World Poker tour to attract people across the world and they succeeded in the US. The fascinating story of Mr. Chris Moneymaker also added to the growth of online poker gambling. It is said that moneymaker paid 40 dollars to get into the poker contest.

He became a big pot in the world’s series of pokers with his success in the tournament. He is said to have defeated 839 other people who had participated in the poker contests and was declared the winner of 2.5 million dollars. The poker tournament conducted in the year is adjudged the biggest ever held in the history of Poker’s.

Mr. Moneymaker’s success became an inspiration to many people who came forward to learn and play poker online and this led to the growth of the game in different dimension in the year 2004.

www.pokertips.org provides a lot of information about the game and also trains those who are interested. The online gambling firms made a lot of money during the year and the year saw two another entrants- Full tilt pokeralong with Nobel poker. Sportingbet acquired Paradise Poker and the business entered a success phase as the former was a listed company. It is optional for online casino to list themselves in the stock markets but it helps them acquire funds for the expansion of the business.

The UK government has passed a bill which makes internet gambling absolutely legal and contains certain regulations that makes an online poker a global phenomenon.

Online poker made easy

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
Online poker games are so interesting and thrilling to play that you would spend hours on the poker table without even realizing it. Just like any normal poker game, the tactics for playing online poker are much similar. The only dissimilarity is that online poker is played much quicker as compared to normal poker, further more while playing an online poker; you can not watch your opponents’ faces who are playing against you at the poker table. Some of the poker players may find this to be main disadvantage but in fact it’s a benefit as you can watch the challengers’ actions and how they react on a particular move by which you get an idea about the poker cards they might hold. Though, in an online poker, your computer is your card dealer and as in regular poker the act goes round the table and the dealer deals the card. But there is time limit set by online poker games for a player to make a move and if the move is not within the time limits, the poker cards fold on its own. This is how the game is played rapidly as the player is forced to play immediately within the specified time limit. It becomes easy for a player to watch the opponents’ acts by observing the poker cards that are offered to them. Well, while playing online poker you need to be attentive as there are possibilities that you may loose your move or your opponents’ actions. You not just have to be focused while playing online poker but you should even keep a watch on your opponents’ regular moves. And always remember if your rivals act quickly you should observe the poker hands for which they are generally doubtful to make a play. You can decide if the player has strong poker hands, weak hands or doesn’t understand to play fine, just by watching the kind of poker cards they possess. The same holds a fact for the player who takes a long time to make a play and then makes a move rapidly and if this is the case, the player in fact possess a weak hand and pushes the auto check button. While playing online poker, a learner must concentrate on one poker game only and if you play multiple poker games you will obviously be disrupted from any one poker tables and thus loose your turn or might be a large sum of money. By missing turns you may also be asked to leave the poker room. And if you concentrate on single poker game at a time, you will be aware of the moves that your opponents make. If you pay attention on your online poker game, it will surely be beneficial to you no matter how different it is than normal poker. As many people are fascinated to play poker games online there are various methods by which you can surely be a winner. You need to have a through knowledge of playing poker online as well as apply the knowledge to learn your opponents’ better. To enhance your knowledge on online poker you need to know the different tactics while playing poker games online. You can learn too much on the Internet as there are several websites that help you play poker games online effectively. You need to focus on how you can improve your poker hands as well as the hands of other challengers on the poker table. Everytime remember that the plan differs with each poker game so you have to be tolerant as you will hardly win during your first games.

Online Poker Games – Game Point And Advantage

Sunday, June 14th, 2009
A game which has rules is an online poker game, where each game has a specific set of rules that differ between every casino on the net or website’s setting. The main attraction of an online poker match as the most-played game is because rules can vary slightly between one place and another, and yet it will still follow the main guidelines which allow everyone to feel comfortable with the game along with its guidelines to play.

But, there must be an accepted bunch of rules which each of the players may refer to if confusion sets in. This is why free tutorials have been made available on the net along with books on how to go about playing an online poker game. Offering the player instructions about how to play the game is what these books do, either online or real life. These tutorials provide tips to beat the opponent, when you must risk your cards and when you should hold them.

Poker games online are always so popular. Why is it so? Poker games’ on the net help the begginers learn to play the game in their own speed with the free software. If they think they are game to playing with other’s, online poker websites are the thing for them. Online poker games allow novices to gamble as little as 1¢ with free poker rolls to anyone who enter into the table without fee. The attractions in online game rooms are that players need not feel all that pressure from the rest of the players to perform without committing mistakes.

Playing poker games online will hone your probability skills, improve computing capabilities, propagates social inter reaction and teaches one how to play well. The type of players that the casino casts out (novices), the poker that’s online embraces. That is the main reason for the online poker to be one of the largest collectors of revenue from online casinos.

Despite all the benefits provided by online poker, a chief concern is

Like the professional casinos at Las Vegas, a watchful eye is present before each poker room. This “eye” checks for illegitimacy. Online poker games’ security checks out the IP address that belongs to a computer unit to confirm that not more than one unit play the game; thereby illegitimate game play is avoided.

Mainstream poker sites get players hooked by conducting tournaments. The winners of the poker tournament get a chance to try out real poker in casinos that host the programme. Tournaments may make players play at the World Series Poker Championship Games. Better your skills more are the chances of you winning a prize. As far as test of skills is concerned, these poker websites make it possible to play with real masters of the game.

Because of all these advantages, it isn’t a surprise that poker on the net is a successful business. But being a champion varies in the real world. Real poker can distract you when you are playing. The acclaimed “poker face” must be perfected before an online poker player can take on real poker. Online poker does not teach us that.

Apart from misleading your counterpart physically; there is no difference between playing on the net or playing a real game of poker. poker on the net and the real game are about betting cash.

The main advantage in playing poker online is the absence of intimidating opponents. Because you are new to the game, it helps to not have opponents present as it helps you improve your skills.

After you have become comfortable with the game play, you may sign up with various websites to play the game. Your first game can be quite challenging especially if you haven’t got the hang of it yet. Although, you will get better at the game when other players play and everything becomes clearer.

But the only thing that remains unchanged in any poker game is the prevalence of addiction in any form of gambling. The game revolves around taking risks, playing with guts and paying due attention for your skills and ultimately winning once or twice.

Even then it’s still the poker games online that attract novice’s everyday. The internet destroys all barriers of space, time and race; in this world, there is no better feeling than to win at the game!
