Online Poker Question?

Posted by admin

So if i want to be smart about my first deposit to an online poker room, couldn’t I just pick a room with a 100% 1st deposit match bonus. Then deposit $500 and get $500 for a total of $1000 in my account. Then go and enter a $500, 6 person Sit N Go tournament. And then if I loose just withdraw my initial $500 and go to a different room with a 100% first deposit bonus and keep doing this until I win the Sit N Go????

The pokerrooms that offer big bonuses like that make you earn them. That is, you have to generate so much rake/tournament fees and the bonuses are released incrementally. Full Tilt releases them in 10% increments. I know it sounds pretty rough, but it’s to eliminate people who sign up just to get the bonuses.

Back in the old days, maybe. These days, you have to play your money – so playing one $500 SnG would maybe earn you $50 or less of your $500 bonus. If you lost, you’d be down maybe $450. You have to keep playing (real money – freerolls and play money don’t count) to get the rest of the bonus credited to your account. Read the fine print before you sign up. But Full Tily, UB, bodog are all like this.

PS – While in my opinion an inferior site, you can get 110% or more (eventually) from UB.

In addition to the restrictions in the answers above, most sites will also make you wait a certain period before you can make a withdrawl after a deposit, usually around 3 days or so. Also you have to bet a certain amount of money or play x amount of hands before any of the bonuses are credited to your account. Plus it’s usually determined by table rake. Example: Play hands totalling $150 in player rakes (and that’s just your contribution to the rake) to make your $150 bonus. That can take some serious time and cost you waaaaaaay more than your deposit bonus.

That is not possible, because they realease the bonus in parts. You will have to play with your money. Thats sure.

No, you have to clear the deposit bonuses. Most deposit bonuses are released in $10 or $20 intervals. The fasted way to clear bonuses is by playing cash games.
